JPD Makes 2 Arrests at Hollywood Casino After Altercation with Security Guard

A 25-year-old named Devonte Turner from Joliet and a 23-year-old Aspen Kenney, also of Joliet, were taken into custody at Hollywood Casino for assaulting security guards at the establishment. Kenney was released on charges of aggravated battery to private security, while Turner was taken to Will County Jail due to multiple warrants out for his arrest. Turner was also charged with aggravated battery to private security, as reported by the arrest logs. The incident took place at 3:55 a.m. on Sunday, according to Joliet police.

The Joliet police department spokesman, Dwayne English, provided details of the incident, stating that the officers received a call about a security guard being attacked by two casino patrons at Hollywood Casino. Security guards witnessed a man and a woman engaged in an argument on the casino floor. When a security guard attempted to intervene, Turner disregarded orders from the guard. When the guard tried to detain Turner, he struck the guard in the chest. Kenney then struck the security guard in the head as the guard attempted to restrain Turner. The Joliet police arrived at the scene and detained both Turner and Kenney without any further incident.

Turner had two active Will County arrest warrants for failing to appear in court regarding previous domestic battery and traffic charges. Kenney was released on a Notice to Appear. Both were charged with aggravated battery to private security.

The incident comes as a reminder for Hollywood Casino patrons to remain respectful and compliant with the establishment’s policies and security personnel.
